Stevie's Plate: Local food producers the stars of the show

Local chef and entrepreneur Stevie Mack is on a mission to share his love of our region and the fantastic food it produces.

Stevie runs Esta Costilla private chef services, providing in-home fine dining experiences for functions across the Surf Coast and Greater Geelong region, offering premium degustation and grazing menus to rival Michelin Starred restaurants on the world stage. Aside from this, he's charismatic, charming and a fantastic, passionate story teller.

So when he got in touch with me to discuss the idea of a local food show with a difference, I knew it would be something exceptional.

Stevie has launched the Stevie's Plate YouTube channel, a series of short episodes which look to tell the stories of our region's producers who are setting themselves apart with their unique vision and the quality of their produce.

Here's what Stevie's got to say about his journey:

I'm Stevie Mack and I'm a private chef. I live, I work and I play. All on the majestic Great Ocean Road and the magnificent Surf Coast of Victoria. The city, it’s okay but I am a great believer that perspective comes from spending time in the country and really there is no place like the place I call home. Join me as I set out on a discovery quest to learn and educate myself about the people who live and work on the land.

While it's still in its infancy, Stevie's already got visions for the next steps with Stevie's Plate. His next goal is to grow the concept to a network series, bringing city audiences along on a journey through our fantastic rural hinterland, drawing recognition to the fantastic, diverse produce on offer in the region and building relationships with the passionate producers shaping our region into a foodie's paradise.
