Congratulations and thanks to the Surf Coast Shire community groups and event organisers that have actively supported Council's Plastic Wise Events and Markets Policy.
Because of your dedication and passion, the policy has been recognised by Keep Victoria Beautiful, winning the Community-Government Partnerships category at the Tidy Towns-Sustainable Communities Awards.
Our community has played a vital role in developing and implementing the Plastic Wise Policy, building Surf Coast’s reputation for taking local action to address the global problem of plastic pollution, and for hosting a diversity of sustainable events.
Thanks also to Council's Environment and Rural Advisory Panel - volunteer community members who have provided advice and direction for developing this policy since 2014.
