The Great Ocean Road region is known nationally and internationally as a spectacularly pristine land and sea environment with a rich cultural heritage and a world-class food and wine offering.

Surf Coast Shire Council is partnered with Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism (GORRT) to showcase this brand as a coastal sanctuary of contrasting natural beauty, where unexpected hinterland waterfall walks reveal dappled lush forests at the edge of lively salt-washed villages, rugged oceanic splendour and raw seascapes.

Immersion in this rugged place is a form of therapy in itself with visitors leaving feeling rejuvenated.

The role of GORRT as the independent peak body for the Great Ocean Road regional tourism sector is to develop a seamless visitor experience through collaboration to position the Great Ocean Road as Australia’s foremost sustainable tourism region.

Your can partner with GORRT to gain access to products and services to support your business targeting visitors to the Great Ocean Road region. A range of partner packages are available to suit small to large business budgets. Partner package fees help to support the development, management, marketing and advocacy for the region.

In 2011-12 the tourism industry contributed an estimated $1.8 billion to the Great Ocean Road economy and employed 20,000 people. The region captures more domestic and international visitors than any other region of regional Victoria. Over the past decade international visitor expenditure has grown by 4% pa and domestic by 3% pa to $670m and $1.4b respectively. The region supplies a significant amount (9%) of the statewide direct contribution of tourism, ranking 2nd behind only Melbourne.
