Events Grants announced for 2018/19

From music to sport to art to literary – the 2018-19 Event Grants Program will support a diverse range of events.
Surf Coast Shire Council resolved at its January meeting to support 22 events in the 2018-19 program, allocating $53,000 of funding to seven major events and $25,540 to 15 community events.
The Event Grants Program focuses on supporting events held in the off-peak season from post-Easter to mid-December, in a bid to encourage an events calendar that delivers economic and social benefits to local communities year-round.
The wide variety of supported events – which includes the Surf Coast Century, Love Winter in Aireys, Surf Coast Kite Festival and Drink Arts Food Torquay – will increase visitation and showcase the Surf Coast as a worthwhile destination for people to further explore.
