Outside smoking ban for outdoor dining now in effect!
The new laws were announced in 2015 by the Victorian Government in an effort to curb the effects of second-hand smoke. As from August 1, the ban on smoking in outdoor dining areas took effect. You will see signs at restaurants and cafes throughout the Surf Coast now adhering to the new laws.
The Department of Health and Human Services has prepared the following resources to guide businesses, community groups and others on complying with Victoria's smoke-free outdoor dining laws.
